Organic & Biodynamic wines
Did you know that organic wines cause less powerful hangovers, have fewer chemicals, and are kinder to the environment?
So what are organic and biodynamic wines? The requirements to obtain the organic label vary from country to country, with some localities allowing the addition of sulfites to stabilise the wine and others only allowing the naturally occurring sulfites that come from the skins of the grapes. The basic tenet is that organic wines are made with grapes grown organically, with no chemical additives or pesticides.
Biodynamic wines are made taking into consideration the entire ecosystem of the farm and pay particular attention to the health and vitality of the soil, which according to winemakers leads to wines with an excellent expression of terroir. While organic and biodynamic farming produce wines without the use of additional chemicals, for biodynamic wines the Lunar calendar plays an important role in decisions on when to plant and harvest grapes based on the position of the moon.
